This year IMFA will have been working on behalf of the children of Nicaragua for 25 years and we are celebrating on Saturday 12th November at 7pm in Housman's Bookshop, 5 Caledonian Road. The Nicaragua Chargee d'affiare is expected to attend. Los Pollitos has gone from strength to strength and now has 245 children enrolled for this year. The hard work and dedication of the teachers and of the supporters of IMFA in the UK have made that possible. We are also now a registered Charity, which will help our future fundraising. On Saturday 24th September Martin lead a fascinating guided walk along the historic New River, which we now all know, is neither new nor a river!.
A dozen of us thoroughly enjoyed the walk and raised £35. Many thanks to Martin for all his hard work.
Kim Alexander, who is cycling round Central America to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, dropped into Los Pollitos while she was in Managua. £260 was raised at the October pub quiz at the Calthorpe Arms and a great night was had a by all 35 contestants. Thanks to Steve and Debbie for an excellent quiz.
It's a fun night out for a good cause so please do join us for the next one on 25th November. Bring a team or join one on the night, you will always be very welcome.
